FASHIONABLE AUSTRIAN MAN IN VIENNA

COOL DUDE_0001

A well dressed Austrian gentleman poses for this cabinet card portrait by photographer Karl Dubell. Dubell’s studio was located in Vienna, Austria. The subject in this image is accessorized with a cane, vest, bow tie and what appears to be a straw hat. What is this fine gentleman holding in the fingers of his right hand. Is that an extra long cigarette?

  1. Its probably a hand rolled cigarette, before the machine rolled ones were produced.

  2. This gentleman looks like Frank on American Pickers, only cleaned-up!

  3. I guess, it is a normal cigarette, but in a cigarette holder – they were very common in the 1920′es to prevent the fingertips from getting smelly and yellow.
