three sistersf

Three young and adorable sisters pose for their portrait at Pomranz’s Art Studio in Newark, New Jersey. Two of the girls have long hair and all three of them are wearing large hair bows. The two older girls are holding flowers. Isadore Pomranz was listed by the US Census as being a photographer in Newark during 1910, 1920, and 1930.

  1. I have photographs listing the same address but the photographer’s name is Stanislaw Kundzicz. I do not know the year but late 1890’s to maybe 1910. Do you have any info?

    • It is not unusual to find two or more cabinet card photographers with the same address. This occurred because photographers would often buy the studio of another photographer when they were looking to start their career, expand their business, or simply move to a new locale. Some cabinet cards will credit the previous owner of the studio by stating something like “Kundizicz, Successor to Pomranz”.
